Kampala City experiences the effects of the long dry spell

Kampala, Uganda’s capital city is experiencing the effects of a long dry spell that hit the country at the beginning of the year 2011.
Currently many of the city’s suburbs are experiencing clouds of dust in the air summed with hot temperatures.
This has come along with implications to the health of city dwellers.

Lack Of Supervision Angers Makerere Students

Students at Makerere University have expressed concern about the management of the entire internship process. They think the university administration must go back to the drawing board and develop a better system.

Doing internship was made mandatory for every student at the start of the 2010/2011 academic year. But students have raised concerns about placement, supervision and workload among other issues. Makerere’s Ban on Public Transport Raises Concerns

Following the total ban imposed on public commuter taxis as well as boda boda and hostel vans into Makerere University, transport has increasingly become a problem to the staff and student community calling for re-consideration of the decision or avail an alternative as soon as possible. The ban has not only affected movement within the university but also the taxi and boda boda operators have equally felt a pinch in very many ways. Read more »
